What is your title and role at your host site?
My role as Outreach Coordinator at the Women’s Center of Jacksonville will be primarily focused on the facilitation and organization of the Bosom Buddies program, as well as community education focused on the breast health services provided by the center in addition to informing the community about female health.

Why did you join the National Health Corps Florida AmeriCorps program?
I joined the National Health Corps Florida to follow my passion for helping people, and educating and empowering people to take control of their health. This opportunity combines my passions and allows me to put my education to work, while gaining experience that will prepare me for the future.

I hope to gain more knowledge about the field of public health and my abilities to provide care in said field. I am looking forward to learning more about Jacksonville and the populations in need.

What are your plans after AmeriCorps service?
I hope to enroll in an MPH program and earn my masters while working and gaining experience in the field. I would love to take my connections, skills and opportunities earned through the program and develop a more permanent position.

Where do you envision yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years I hope to be travelling, have travelled, or have plans to travel. I would love to take my public health work abroad and provide care in underserved areas across the globe.
