I believe that my service year with the PHC will help me smoothly transition into medical school this upcoming fall 2014, because my service year thus far has given me much exposure to the medical field. What do you do at your site to provide primary and preventative medical care services to the populations you serve? The Squirrel Hill Health Center (SHHC) provides low-cost medical care to underserved populations across Southwestern Pennsylvania. In addition to having a primary care clinic in Squirrel Hill/Homestead, the SHHC also operates a "Mobile Unit," which travels to various underserved areas in Pittsburgh to help alleviate some barriers of accessing medical care for many of our patients...
