To improve maternal and child health and wellbeing through the collaborative efforts of individuals, families, providers and communities.
Maternity Care Coalition envisions a future in which all families receive solid support throughout the critical period of pregnancy through age three in a manner that enables lifelong health and wellbeing.
• Each child is welcomed.
• Each person is nurtured and achieves his or her full potential.
• Parents and guardians are empowered to care for themselves and their children.
• Communities understand and act upon the imperative to provide systematic support.
As a result, all families and individuals are healthy, connected, and economically self-sufficient.
Service at Maternity Care Coalition:
At MCC, the Cribs for Kids Advocate has the privilege of working with one of those programs. With the purpose of reducing Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), Cribs for Kids provides brand new pack and plays, often referred to as playpens, as a safe sleeping space for our clients’ children. The program assists clients from eight weeks of their due date up until their child is six months. The advocate sees a variable group of prenatal and postpartum women. In an effort to ensure that a safe sleep space isn't being used in an unsafe manner, the advocate also offers safe sleep education to everyone who is enrolled in the program and any family members who would like to come along.
