At the University of Arizona, I was involved in a student organization which would go to elementary schools and science festivals to present small Neuroscience demos to children. The purpose was to expand the community's awareness of the study of neuroscience as well as to pique children's interest in higher education.

What first sparked your interest in community service?
An event held on through a student organization I was a part of at the University of Arizona called Hopefest. A four day event in which the underserved community of Tucson was able to access free groceries, donated clothing, medical check-ups, and more. I was helping place clothing on tables for families to choose from, and seeing so many excited children made me realize the value and my interest in community service.
