Why did you join AmeriCorps/National Health Corps?
I believe this opportunity will allow me to get a better understanding of healthcare prior to employment and furthering my education. I also would like to get hands-on experience with individuals of the communities that I would like to tailor my work towards including, but not limited to: immigrant communities, people of color, and women. This opportunity will allow me to obtain a more intimate connection with these communities.
What are you hoping to gain from your year of service?
I hope to gain leadership experience and develop a better understanding of the specific role I would like to play in healthcare. I am always interested in broadening my scope of knowledge and taking full advantage of the professional experience that this program has to offer. I also would like to learn about policy and how it influences community structure.
What are your plans after AmeriCorps service?
After my service with AmeriCorps I hope to further my education, and pursue a medical career.
Where do you envision yourself in 5 years?
I see myself incorporating my love of culture and travel with my medical career and making a difference throughout the world.
