Why did you join AmeriCorps/National Health Corps?

I want to dedicate my career within the public health field towards alleviating healthcare disparities. I know that a year of service will provide me with the opportunity to help others within the Pittsburgh community that I am proud to call my new home.

What are you hoping to gain from your year of service?

I want to better understand the healthcare needs of marginalized populations within the Pittsburgh community and apply this knowledge in my future career. I believe that this year of service will also help me appreciate the public health field and all it has to offer.

What are your plans after AmeriCorps service?

I plan on attending graduate school to pursue a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a focus on Epidemiology.

Where do you envision yourself in 5 years?

In 5 years, I plan on being an Epidemiologist working within the public health field and continuing my education for a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in Epidemiology. I am interested in pursuing a career in public health policy.
