Why Serve Southern Inland CA?

California’s Inland Empire region of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties sprawls over 27,000 square miles, and is a study in geographic contrasts — with urban population centers in the west and rural, sparsely populated areas to the east. The region has enjoyed continued population and employment growth, although it continues to be poorer and less healthy than other parts of California.

The Inland Empire exhibits significant health disparities when compared to California averages and national benchmarks, including a higher incidence of diabetes-related death, coronary heart disease, and chronic liver disease, as well as serious psychological distress- and ranks in the lower half of counties in California in the number of physicians per capita.

Members in the Inland Empire will be placed in Federally Qualified Health Centers in order to increase capacity and improve community care right where they live!
