Cindy Won, Food Security Programming Coordinator

Originally from the East Bay, Cindy recently returned from the East Coast after graduating from Brown in May of 2020. Upon witnessing the health disparities of her local communities as both an English literacy tutor and Emergency Medical Technician, she decided to join the National Health Corps to serve those who have been disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. As the Food Security Programming Coordinator at Clinic by the Bay, she plans to uplift and support underprivileged communities by increasing access to healthier foods and providing patients with individualized nutritional coaching. Eventually, she hopes to build sustainable and equitable communities in underserved regions as a physician, which is predicated upon learning how to work with and respect perspectives within these communities. Cindy is excited to learn more about the social determinants of health in a hands-on approach during her service.
