What is your title and role at your host site? My title at MHA is health educator, and my service description is to facilitate bullying prevention programs, as well as assist mentally ill adults to find and obtain resources to improve their quality of life.


Why did you join AmeriCorps/National Health Corps? I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and learn valuable lessons and skills to help me grow personally and professionally, while continuing to make a positive impact on the community.


What are you hoping to gain from your year of service? I hope to make new friends and professional connections, and gain a more informed perspective of the needs and resources in the community.


What are your plans after AmeriCorps service? I plan on going back to school to get a masters of public health.


Where do you envision yourself in 5 years? I’d like to be working in public health, working with programs that deal with behavior and disease prevention.
