Hi, my name is Delani Munson, and I have had to opportunity to start as a National Health Corps Fellowship member in Northeast Pennsylvania. Thanks to NHC, I am placed at Volunteers in Medicine in Wilkes-Barre, PA as a Community Health Worker. Volunteers in Medicine is a non-profit that works to provided healthcare and health services to the eligible, working persons who are uninsured. In this position, I will be able to help with outreach in the community to provide health services to underprivileged communities. This can include helping making appointments to receive care, aiding in local food bank distribution, or promoting health education. I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to grow my skills while helping others! As a recent graduate from Franklin & Marshall College with a degree in Public Health, this position is the perfect opportunity to apply my education and continue learning from the hands-on interactions. Being able to work with NHC and in my local community will allow me to fulfill my desire to help those in the healthcare system and gain experience before I pursue my MPH in future years. 

Fun fact: When I studied abroad, I was able to travel to 11 countries in Europe!
