Position Title:
Food Access Coordinator
Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Los Angeles and have spent the last 4 years living in San Francisco for college.
Why did you decide to join NHC?
Public Health is a field I found in my senior year of college that I felt a natural gravitation toward. NHC seemed like the perfect opportunity to explore this field through hands-on experience prior to pursuing graduate school. I also really value the idea that NHC upholds to not only work for communities, but with communities toward a goal for their benefit. I’ve always wanted my work to center around building up the idea of community
and NHC checked that box for me.
What are you hoping to gain or learn during your service term?
I’m excited to gain experience with patient interaction. I highly value human interaction during work and I believe the patient interaction skills I would gain working with communities would not only help me to further develop my interpersonal and intercultural communication skills but would also be invaluable to my growth as an individual working toward the common good.
What are you most looking forward to during your service term?
I’m really excited to get a deeper understanding of my local communities as well as building a new community with fellow NHC members!
