Position Title: Medication Management Coordinator

Why did you join NHC Pittsburgh? I joined NHC Pittsburgh because it offers a great opportunity to grow in my understanding of the barriers patients face in navigating the US healthcare system and how providers can help alleviate these burdens and improve access to care. It is my hope that this experience will prepare me for a lifetime of service in the medical field and help me better accompany patients in the future.

What do you hope to gain or learn during your service term?

With my role as the Medication Management Coordinator pertaining largely to medication access, I hope to develop a better grasp of medication affordability and insurance coverage. In addition, I am excited to be immersed in the Pittsburgh area through outside service and hope to learn more about this community.

What are you most looking forward to during your service term?

I am most looking forward to connecting with other people who are passionate about public health and access to health care in the great city of Pittsburgh!

What is something you appreciate about serving in Pittsburgh/at your Host Site? I have really enjoyed serving in Pittsburgh because the city truly has so much to offer. I especially love getting to explore all the different neighborhoods in the area. In addition, I have had a wonderful experience serving at my host site so far and am lucky to work with such tremendous people.

What are your plans after your service as an AmeriCorps member?

At the conclusion of my service term, I will be starting medical school where I hope to apply the skills and lessons learned during my year serving with AmeriCorps.
