What is your title and role at your host site?
I am a Healthy Start Care Coordinator where I reach out to women who might benefit from Healthy Start services, help them navigate the system, and provide child safety and health education for parents.

Why did you join AmeriCorps/National Health Corps?
I wanted to give my time and energy to an organization that is working to make people’s lives tangibly better.

What are you hoping to gain from your year of service?
I hope to gain professional experience, a fresh perspective, and perhaps even a vocational direction.

What are your plans after AmeriCorps service?
After this year I plan to go to graduate school, or to hike the Appalachian Trail.

Where do you envision yourself in 5 years?
In five years I hope to have finished school, found a fulfilling job in a city I love, and made a documentary.
