Where are you from?

I am a Bay Area local from San Jose, CA.

Why did you decide to join NHC?

Growing up in the Bay Area, I had seen and faced different issues in the healthcare system. Those issues led me to pursue public health in my undergraduate studies which solidified my commitment to health equity. I decided to join NHC because I wanted to gain more experience with working more with underserved populations in my own local communities.

What are you hoping to gain or learn during your service term?

During my service team, I hope to learn more about the efforts and people working on closing and bridging gaps in the healthcare system. I hope to expand my knowledge about healthcare in the Bay Area.

What are you most looking forward to during your service term?

I’m most looking forward to learning and meeting everyone at my host site. I’m excited to get to know my cohort and staff members!
