Tia Halsey

Born and raised in Gardena, California and having lived in the Bay Area for undergraduate studies, Tia was drawn to the National Health Corps program for the opportunity to provide support services and lessen the burden of healthcare for those in need. She is excited to learn more about the roles and organizations that contribute to quality public health practices, as well as the strategies to improve health access and care delivery to all communities. Tia also hopes to develop stronger communication, programming, and evaluation skills to become an effective health educator and team member aiming to empower people with the knowledge to advocate for their health and see positive impacts in individual and community health outcomes. Tia looks forward to engaging in direct community outreach, learning with her cohort and host site team, connecting with like-minded peers, and exploring the beautiful city of San Francisco!

Tia will serve as the Shelter Health Public Health Educator at the San Francisco Department of Public Health’s Whole-Person Integrated Care Team for the 2025-2026 Service Term.
