What is your title and role at your host site? I will be a Care Coordinator. My role will be to provide risk reduction education and care coordination to pregnant and/or postpartum women.

Why did you join AmeriCorps/National Health Corps? I joined AmeriCorps to gain experience in the public health field. In addition, AmeriCorps/National Health Corps will allow me to work with underserved populations so that I can better understand how I can best serve and reduce health disparities.

What are you hoping to gain from your year of service? I am hoping to develop and enhance skills that will help me to grow professionally. I am also hoping to narrow down what I would like to do specifically in the public health field since it is such a broad field.


What are your plans after AmeriCorps service?
I plan to get my masters degree in Public Health.

Where do you envision yourself in 5 years?
I envision myself with a master’s degree in Public Health with a concentration in health promotion.
