Why did you join NHC Pittsburgh? 

I joined the National Health Corps to gain hands-on experience in public health and deepen my understanding of the challenges faced by underserved communities. I wanted to make a meaningful impact while also growing both personally and professionally through direct service.

What do you hope to gain or learn during your service term? 

I hope to gain hands-on experience in community-based health settings while deepening my understanding of the social determinants of health. I aim to strengthen my ability to communicate health education effectively while providing support to diverse populations.

What are you most looking forward to during your service term?

Having conversations with the community and serving as a direct resource for them.  

What is something you appreciate about serving in Pittsburgh/at your Host Site? 

I appreciate the work environment and seeing firsthand the care our providers have for their patients, not just in the medical sense but also in improving their overall quality of life. 

What are your plans after you serve as an AmeriCorps member?

I plan to attend graduate school and obtain a Master's of Social Work and a Master's of Public Health.
