Nadia Majlessi (she/her) has served as the Program Director for National Health Corps San Francisco since June 2019. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from San Francisco State University and a Master of Public Health in Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior from the University of South Carolina. Prior to NHC, Nadia spent several years working in orthopaedics. She worked at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), Orthopaedic Trauma Institute’s biomechanical testing facility as a Laboratory Manager while jointly assisting at the surgical training facility. Afterwards, she became a founding member and Business Manager of a nonprofit biomechanical testing laboratory where she developed its organizational and financial infrastructure. Nadia has also worked at the San Francisco Department of Public Health to kick-start a health report to address the health disparities and inequities in the Black/African American population. Her professional interests continue to be in research and development, implementation, and evaluation stages of program planning. Nadia enjoys leading a healthy lifestyle and likes to constantly learn. During her free time, she likes to cook, read, spend time with family and friends, travel, box and do martial arts, and have many adventures.
