Hi, I'm Gabby! I was born and raised in Washington D.C. My hobbies include running, reading, and spending time with friends. I also enjoy traveling and love to explore new places in my free time.
I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in May of 2019 with a Bachelors of Arts in Urban Studies and Public Service. As an undergraduate student, I participated in two community engagement fellowships that allowed me to become involved with several different community organizations in the city of Pittsburgh. Through my involvement, I became interested in working within the public health field and learning more about how to improve health outcomes in urban and rural communities.
I am excited for the opportunity NHC Chicago presents to expand my understanding of public health through direct community service. In addition, I am also looking forward to working with other AmeriCorps members who are passionate about public health and serving the Chicago community.
By the end of my service year, I hope to become an effective Health Educator and gain a better understanding of how I can advance health equity as a public health professional. I am also excited to explore Chicago and learn more about the city over the next few months!
