Meet Stephanie, NHC Chicago '19-20 Health Educator!
Posted on: February 20, 2020Chicago
Hi! My name is Stephanie Senanou and I am so excited to have started the next chapter of my life with National Health Corps Chicago. Chicago is my hometown and has given me incredible relationships and experiences so I am looking forward to giving my service to this one-of-a-kind city. I graduated from Walter Payton in 2015 and went on to achieve a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Choosing to go out of the country for college was one of the best decisions of my life as I was thrown out of my comfort zone, giving me the chance to meet people from around the world and find countless new hobbies. The environment allowed me to enjoy multi-day camping trips with my best friends, wonderful views from atop mountains and breathtaking sunsets from the numerous beaches throughout Vancouver. Along with these outdoor adventures, I also love to read exciting novels and laugh with my friends.
After graduating college, I wanted to pursue some of my career interests before continuing on to graduate school and I could not think of a better place to start than with NHC Chicago. I find that work done for the betterment of others is the most fulfilling and allows me to put my efforts towards productive action for my community. As long as I can remember, I have loved participating in community service initiatives from building homes with Habitat for Humanity to patient care in local hospitals. This service term I'm serving with Erie Family Health Centers to implement health education programs for Lake View High schoolers. I love to spread knowledge, especially about health issues, and I think this is the perfect platform for me to do so. I look forward to service, meeting new people and making new friends while implementing important health programs!
