Position Summary

The Greater Scranton YMCA is excited to unveil our new teaching kitchen to our members and community. These new spaces will help individuals and families develop heathier habits through cooking and learning to prepare meals 

Each week, the Greater Scranton YMCA offers  nutritional education and/or cooking class for children, adults and families. Classes are open to YMCA members and non-members.

The Public Health Workforce Development Corps member will provide increased planning, publicity and community outreach for healthy nutrition programs for the Y members, preschool, afterschool program and the general community.

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create nutritional educational classes for children, families and adults that will help better serve our member and community
  • Increase community outreach of nutritional kitchen and classes in the general community
  • Research new ideas nutritional classes based on community need
  • Lifting 10 or more regularly
