Putting Public Health Studies into Practice

Posted on: July 22, 2016Chicago

Hey y'all! I'm Fabiana. I'm originally from New York and studied public health at the College of Charleston in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina. Some of my favorite things to do include exploring new cities, going to the beach, and trying new foods because I'm a total foodie. Now, I am so excited to be in living in Chicago and to be addressing some of the public health issues here.

This year, I will be serving as a Health Promoter for Heartland Health Centers at Roosevelt and Hibbard. I'm excited to be able to put all that I have learned from my public health studies into practice in order to improve the health of the children and teens at Roosevelt and Hibbard. I hope to be able to use my creativity and improve my leadership skills over this next year as I address challenges in student health compliance, nutrition, reproductive health, dental health and vision care.
