Alisha Jani (she/her) has served as Program Director – National Health Corps Chicago since September 2018. Prior to joining PHIMC, Alisha worked in the non-profit sector developing youth programs focused on literacy and wellness for under-resourced communities in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she was also a Bay Area Youth Agency Consortium (BAYAC) AmeriCorps member. Alisha’s motivations in public health stems from serving diverse communities of Chicago and working towards health equity for all. She was a graduate intern at the American Diabetes Association in Chicago, facilitating diabetes prevention camps for children. Alisha completed her Master of Public Health with an interdisciplinary focus on community health at University of California, Berkeley; she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Biology minor from University of Illinois at Chicago.
Alisha enjoys staying connected with family and friends, traveling to new cities, reading, music, walks around Lake Michigan, museum trips, trying new recipes, photography, venturing out to a new Chicago neighborhood and hopefully will be a dog owner one day!
