Nate Muckley Explores Public Health Field through NHC Chicago

Posted on: August 3, 2016Chicago

My name is Nate Muckley. This spring, I graduated from Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin, where I studied political science and public health. While in school, I was involved in a student-run public health organization on campus called the Beloit Public Health Initiative. This organization was focused on reducing the rate of Sexually Transmitted Infections in Rock County. My experience with this group sparked my interest in public health, nonprofits, health communications, and community service. Apart from my academic pursuits, I was also a member of the improvisational comedy troupe on campus.

I am looking forward to living in Chicago, and serving as the Medicaid Managed Care Outreach Coordinator at Legal Council for Health Justice. Through my time in the National Health Corps Chicago, I am hoping to improve my communication skills, explore a career in public health, and gain a greater understanding of healthcare and health policy.
