Programs offered by Empowerment Resources Inc. (ERI)

Journey Into Womanhood™(JIW): This 25-week rites of passage program for girls ages 9-17 focuses on their healthy transition from girls to young women. Journey-Into-Womanhood is facilitated by experienced leaders and volunteers who help participants cultivate self-awareness, develop leadership skills, and build skills that positively impact their communities. Participants engage in journal writing, community service projects, mentoring, enrichment trips and an end of the year celebration and scholarship banquet.

Life Skills Workshops: We empower students (grades 3rd through 12th) to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being and equip them with the necessary tools to make positive life decisions. Workshop topics include self-esteem, leadership, conflict resolution, goal setting, and career development.

Parenting Education Seminars: ERI uses Nurturing Parenting Programs®, a family centered initiative written by Dr. Stephen Bavolek, designed to cultivate nurturing parenting skills. The program employs proven approaches that help develop non-violent parenting beliefs and practices through empathy, self-worth, empowerment, self-awareness, and discipline with dignity.

To date ERI has served over 1,200 youth and 400 families with our services and outreach programs.
