Be at least 18 years of age by the start of service.

Be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident.

Have achieved a high school diploma or GED by the start of service.

Have NOT previously served four AmeriCorps State or National terms.

Is the Public Health Leadership Corps right for you?

As a member of the Public Health Leadership Corps you will be inspired to turn empathy into action! During this year-long engagement for emerging  leaders planning to pursue advanced degrees in healthcare and public health, members deliver vital medical, behavioral health, and social services  while gaining training, mentorship, and exposure to diverse perspectives. You will gain the skills and insights you need to accelerate your professional growth and become a leader to advance community health.

As a member of our Community Health Fellowship you will gain real-world experience, expand your professional skills, and join a supportive network of peers dedicated to improving health outcomes in the community you reside or have deep connetions. Through hands-on service and diverse training opportunities, you will learn directly from public health experts while exploring career pathways in three key roles: community health worker, digital health navigator, and medical interpreter. By the end of your  term, you will be eligible to apply for state or other recognized certifications in these professions. Whether just beginning a career in healthcare or exploring it for the first time, this fellowship equips participants with the skills, credentials, and connections to make a lasting impact.
