Presbyterian Social Ministries (or PSM for short) had its humble beginnings in the basement of First Presbyterian Church in downtown Jacksonville, FL. PSM started as a dormitory, offering a home base for mission minded individuals in a city setting - the "Urban Mission Experience".
The program continued to grow and in 2004 we were officially incorporated as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. Several years later we outgrew the facilities at First Presbyterian Church and moved to our current location with the help of Riverside Presbyterian Church. In addition to the growth in our "Urban Mission" program, we have also added to the services offered to the community.
Not only do we offer a range of services, we also work closely with organizations to help them meet their needs. We actively seek partners to allow us to better serve the community and the mission groups that come to Jacksonville.
